Elon used to court the left-wing, because he needed someone to support his electric car startup.  He soured on that when California didn't allow him to kill workers during COVID.

Now he just wants to stay rich, so he courts the right-wing, who will guarantee low taxes.  It doesn't hurt that he can get praise for increasingly bigoted views.

Problem for Galaxy Brain is that going far right and supporting T****y and his ilk will tank his Tesla shares quicker than a cheetah if they ever get into power again.

Musk was responding to a video from September 2023, shared by former President Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., and Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) — his running mate — during which Harris argued the large young voter turnout in 2020 was in part due to their concerns about climate change.

“Because young people said, ‘We’re not leaving it to other people to decide how we’re dealing with the climate crisis’ — you know, I’ve heard young leaders talk with me about a term they’ve coined called ‘climate anxiety,'” Harris said at Reading (Pa.) Area Community College, as part of her “Fight for Our Freedoms” college tour.

“Which is fear of — of the future and the unknown of whether it makes sense for you to even think about having children, whether it makes sense for you to think about aspiring to buy a home … because what will this climate be?” she continued.

CNBC political finance reporter Brian Schwartz explained that the website claims to offer a voter registration option. For someone who doesn't live in a swing state, they can enter their email and zip code and be taken to the website, where they can register in their state.

There comes America PAC, the Musk voter registration site. They hit "submit" and they're still not sent to a voter registration page. Instead, they get a "thank you" page. The person might even falsely believe that they're being registered to vote, but they're not.

Even on the off chance that describing other people’s worries about bringing children into a world that might not be all too livable counts as “extinctionist”, it’s still better than supporting policies that will make it worse and STILL bringing children into the world.





I believe that, at the bare minimum, you should treat the prospect of bringing a new life into the world with the same sort of moral gravity that you would treat potentially taking one out of it. And this sort of reckless horseshit is why. I know we haven’t exactly reached the point of no return yet, but given the drastic level of CO2 emissions that would be required to not do so, plus the fact that the response of many in a position to do so is “Wha’Eva! I’ll do what I want!” (Indeed, the parts of Project 2025 that deal with such things explicitly say that they intend to ramp up use of fossil fuels and curb any attempt at mitigating the impact), it’s only a matter of time before that happens.

A few weeks ago, the world broke its record for the hottest average temperature TWO DAYS IN A ROW. Two months ago, Delhi, the second-largest city on the planet, had record-breaking heat waves, with wet-bulb temperatures at points reaching as high as 100 Fahrenheit. With a sustained wet-bulb temperature of only 95 Fahrenheit, death is pretty much inevitable. And even below that, shit can get extremely dangerous.

Remember the scenes from Dune where they explain how the still-suits work and allow people to survive on the planet of Arrakis?



We now have places where even if we had the technology for still-suits, they’d still be powerless to prevent your death. And those places are only going to get more and more commonplace as global temperatures soar.

I can’t be the only person who thinks that bringing children into a world where ARRAKIS seems like a more hospitable planet is madness.
