GOP senator insists 'Biblically, you're supposed to work' to earn medical care
Sen. Jim Justice (R-WV) defended the GOP's planned deep cuts to Medicaid that could kick over 10 million low-income people off health insurance.
Justice said, "Biblically, we are supposed to work."
"We have taken the dignity and the hope and the belief away from a lot of people where they are hopeless, they think they can't," he said.
Justice, who inherited a coal mining business and was a billionaire before his net worth was wiped out by extensive debt, has nonetheless warned his fellow senators that other aspects of the bill's cuts could be going too far, including a proposal to force states to pay more of the cost of the food stamp program.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I'm struggling to remember the Bible verse wherein Jesus sent Lazarus an invoice for services provided. Can a brotha get some help?

I'm struggling to remember the Bible verse wherein Jesus sent Lazarus an invoice for services provided. Can a brotha get some help? He who does not work, neither shall he eat was uttered by Paul (and repeated by Trotsky) but I can't recall anything about health care needing to be paid for. If anything good Samaritan story would imply otherwise but it wouldn't be first time when right winger does not understand his own book of fables.

I also don't recall Jesus collecting chits from the loaves and fishes crowd. What I do recall is selling your stuff and giving money to the poor, not mistreating strangers in your land, feeding the hungry, tending the sick, and clothing the naked (except Valk) with no expectation of demanding that they work for this help.

At a recent press conference, JD Vance referred to Sen. Alex Padilla as 'Jose Padilla', because, you know, all Hispanics are called 'Jose'

Guys, you have to have a little patience and understanding right now.
White evangelical christians in America are going through a rough time.
They're still supposed to hate the Jews but, at the same time, support Israel.
Please have a little empathy.
