What are you all playing right now?
RE: What are you all playing right now?
I played about an hour of that game, but I do prefer my comfort zone. Because if I have to try too hard to not die, then I don't bother continuing.

I also watched someone play one of the Silent Hill games on YouTube... as well as other horror games like Alien: Isolation and The Forest... great to watch but definitely not my cup of tea to play. The Forest in particular is almost magical to me in memories, and if they made a film of it I'd definitely watch it. That's the only horror/survival game I've played, with a friend, albeit in the 'peaceful' no-monster mode (well there is one, the final boss, but other than that just animals), where it's just about survival, building, hunting, swimming, and exploring, mainly caves. I'd really recommend that if you like horror games. There's a sequel as well but it's nowhere near as good a story IMO (or in my memory Wink)... definitely prefer the first one.

Horror games aren't really my thing, but I'm not afraid to leave my comfort zone for a well-made game.    I would have never learned to enjoy video games if I'd stuck to my comfort zone.

Good for you... they're way too stressful for me to play Wink I guess I'm the opposite.

Well if either of you guys ever want to stream yourselves playing these sorts of games, on twitch or whatever, I'd happily watch Wink But probably never play.

It's important to distinguish between getting killed because the game is hard, or because you're playing wrong. The latter can be fixed through learning to play correctly.

Found a good deal on Unicorn Overlord. There's a demo of it, so I played that and decided it wasn't for me. It's a well-made game, though. I've got my eyes set on Triangle Strategy. I'm hoping it goes on sale at Christmas.

The Fatal Frame survival horror games on the XBOX are on sale. I've never seen them on sale before. I've been interested in playing them for a long time. In a lot of ways, they remind me of Silent Hill f, which I passed on at Black Friday. I'm going to pick up Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water first and see how I like it. The games are cheaper from keysellers and don't appear to vary much, so I can pick up the second game that way. And a new Fatal Frame game is going to be released soon. I'm guessing that's why Maiden of Black Water and Mask of the Eclipse went on sale.

RE: What are you all playing right now?
Playing Octopath Traveler 2, Silent Hill 2, and Fatal Frame: Maid of Black Water to see whether any of the games pose challenges that I likely would be unable to surmount. Octopath Traveler doesn't have a difficulty level, and Sea of Stars which I've been playing has a cheat switch that removes worries about progressive loss of hit points, which Octopath Traveler doesn't have. I've read that the difficulty can be adjusted by in-game choices, but I suck at videogames, so if not for that, the game might have been too hard for me. Silent Hill 2 combat mechanics pose some challenge, given my lack of fingers, but I can lean on a combat style that doesn't have that issue. The only real question mark is Fatal Frame, which uses a combat system similar to action RPGs like Call of Duty and The Division. It's a game that was ported from the Wii with its weird controller. I seem to be managing so far, though I've only gone through one combat. Everything else about the game is dreamy, so I'll likely keep it even if it presents a difficult challenge for me to play.
