And I found out that Age of Wonders 4 has a vampire DLC. The game mechanics for those factions leave something to be desired, but the cosmetics are great, and that's one of my favorite aspects of the game. It was on sale recently, but I didn't know what it was at the time, otherwise I'd have bought it. I've got several new races to play for now while I wait for the next sale, or I could just buy it at full price. The savings from a sale are only a few dollars. It's normally $19.99 and I think it was down to $17.99 on sale.

I want to play Silent Hill f really badly. But I have a feeling the tedious combat would make it disappointing. So rather than being disappointed at $55, I decided to wait until the price has dropped to a more digestible point. Instead I picked up the remake of Silent Hill 2, which despite just being released on XBOX was a hefty 50% off, and I bit the bullet and updated my copy of Ticket To Ride to the new edition. Along with the new edition, I got the deluxe version, so it included all the map DLC. The 'classic' version I was playing only had two maps.

I started Silent Hill 2 and Sea of Stars today. A review says that Sea of Stars starts slowly. Yeah, no kidding. Thankfully, Silent Hill 2 made up for it with its creepy vibe.

Attwmpting to run BG3 on a N97 Mini PC, specifically this one https://www.gmktec.com/products/intel-al...-nucbox-g5
Surprisingly, at 720P at lowest graphics settings + XeSS Anti-Aliasing it seems playable, though it's a better experience on the Steam Deck so far.

I have until November of next year to redeem my PS Stars points to add free $20 into my wallet toward a game.
Also, downloading AC: Valhalla again.
Was going to spend money to change my PS username, but the handle wasn't available.

I completed the first act of Sea of Stars. I picked up Octopath Traveler 2 during the Black Friday sale and spent some time playing it today. Microsoft has a refund policy similar to that of Steam whereby you have two weeks and two hours of gameplay to request a refund, so I'm sampling the game to decide whether to keep it. I wanted a good 16-bit style JRPG, and Octopath Traveler 1 & 2 are supposedly some of the best. The game is designed such that instead of freely choosing your character class, each of the eight stories is built around a character of a specific class, so to play all the stories you have to play each character class. I have a tendency to play the same character class all the time, so the design of the game will / would force me to play outside my comfort zone. That's neither good or bad, it's just something I can choose, or, I can return the game.

Streaming from the SD to the N97 is a much better experience.

Checking out more of Silent Hill 2. I got stuck towards the beginning and needed to consult a walk-through. It's good that I did, though I probably would have figured things out soon. I had missed a gate in a backyard fence that was the way to the next part of the game. I've played about an hour, so I've got an hour left before I'm no longer eligible for a refund, so I want to play as much as I can in that short time in order to decide whether to keep the game or not.

Never played the Silent Hill games, but I love the films, especially the first one... the second one was a bit more forgettable IMO but still pretty good. I also watched someone play one of the Silent Hill games on YouTube... as well as other horror games like Alien: Isolation and The Forest... great to watch but definitely not my cup of tea to play. The Forest in particular is almost magical to me in memories, and if they made a film of it I'd definitely watch it. That's the only horror/survival game I've played, with a friend, albeit in the 'peaceful' no-monster mode (well there is one, the final boss, but other than that just animals), where it's just about survival, building, hunting, swimming, and exploring, mainly caves. I'd really recommend that if you like horror games. There's a sequel as well but it's nowhere near as good a story IMO (or in my memory )... definitely prefer the first one.

Horror games aren't really my thing, but I'm not afraid to leave my comfort zone for a well-made game. I would have never learned to enjoy video games if I'd stuck to my comfort zone.
