Now, the bulk of the time, I completely agree with you. I can't stand censorship. However, even I have my limits. It's not the word, but the disparagement behind the word that bothers me. It is sheer ignorance to hate an entire group of people based purely on where they live and any stigma that has built up about people who live in that area. For example, I could say, "What's up, fag?" to any one of my friends and get a "Not much, dyke." and a hug. It's accepted in that group that such words aren't really offensive because they are not meant as such. When you mean to be offensive, it's different.

Well it certainly is much different when such words are used in official statements. But over the internet...meh, really, I could care less if someone hates Turks and calls us whatever he wants to call us. And they do. I personally am delighted to see people being furious like that.

To be honest, I don't even know what it means. Kilic uses really obscure insults. At least, they are obscure to me. However, the tone with which he uses them makes it easy to figure out what he's talking about.

First of all, I use insults very, very carefully.
I only use them to get a reaction out of people, not to pronounce my own reaction.

And I take it you saw that it's generally associated with joke content.
Mostly used to troll europeans, rather than to indignify, insult or discredit them.
It's not even an umbrella term. Doesn't apply to the majority of European nations.
