Oh, I really wish I'd said that.

Wait a pitton cocking minute - I did!

WTF???
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Deuteronomy
21:18-21

"If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son...
Then shall his father and his mother lay hold
on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his
city... And all the men of his city shall stone him
with stones, that he die..."

Proverbs
23:13-14

"Withhold not correction from the child: for if
thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.
Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt
deliver his soul from hell."

Psalm 137:9

"Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth
thy little ones against the stones."

Yeah, Yahweh sounds like a real "Family Values" kind of guy. Beat the crap out of your kids. Kill them if they resist you. Then celebrate it afterwards because hey they deserved it. Never mind someone ELSE'S children don't even get Yahweh started on those little bastards.

I've explained Psalm 137:9 on two other posts so I want bother to do it again.
Deuteronomy 21:18-21 is not about small children, a son in those days was considered a man by his middle teens, this is a verse about adults children having no respect for the family and trying to tear down the family name. In those days the family name meant everything to all people and to disrespect it was a extremely bad thing to do. If you can't study scriptures at least study history.
Proverbs 23:13-14 the word beat has a literal translation of "smite" which means to strike and as the passage states one is not to beat the child to death. I received several whippings as a child, and I can assure you, if it had not be for that punishment, that I now know was done because I was loved, I would have been in trouble all my life. So if it has done no other any good it did for me, and I'm glad to have grown up to be a responsible adult.
Again I say study scripture for yourself, stop going to web pages that are meant for nothing more than tearing down God's word.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Damn mediamogul, why do you keep forgetting that the bible always means only what GC says it means and all other interpretations are wrong because they misunderstand the holy word as illuminated by the present day vicar of god - Godschild? Get with the program mediamogul or you will have to be sent to a reeducational facility.

Oh it's ME who is not thinking for myself! That really clears it up. No wonder I don't believe in child abuse. I should really reconsider based on a backwards book from thousands of years ago written by a group of superstitious sheep herders.Rolleyes

This is a book that in very plain language states that one should beat their child. It is my profession to make sure that people who beat their children are held accountable. This is child abuse and no amount of dressing it up is going to make it an acceptable method of parenting. "In those days" people believed ridiculuos and backwards things and here we are in an age when we should know better taking advice from this book. I have read it and I must say it almost made me sick to think that there are people out there who take what it has to say seriously. What other book in the WORLD would we be defending if it contained such disgusting prescriptions for human conduct.

Haha. Is that where they lock you in the basement of the Discovery Institute and beat you with bibles until you believe that the flood waters created the Grand Canyon and god sped up the light from the stars so we could see them?

Only to people who want to cling to it despite the horrible things it has to say regarding just about EVERYTHING!

Its very rare for me to feel this disgusted. But when people genuinely think that the assault of children is a good thing I feel sick.

Well what would you expect from a religion preached by paedophiles?

This is a sad indictment of your parent's parenting skills and your character.
