Hello,
My name is Matt and I recently(tonight) discovered this website. I have been trying to find like minded people to engage in conversations with. Well before I get going on that, I would like to give a little back-ground on myself.
I was raised Pentecostal, religion was not forced down my throat but I went with my grandmother every Saturday. My questioning of reality started at an early age for me. I could not understand the concept of Santa, Easter Bunny, and tooth fairy at about age four to five. As I started getting into my teenage years I started to doubt the existence of God. I started getting curious in Satanism, and towards the end of high school and till about four years ago, Buddhism. Recently, I have felt a certain freedom when I come to terms with my views on the universe. I am currently heading back to school to work on my bachelors in Physics, then hopefully a Masters and Ph.D. in Astrophysics.
It is hard for me to talk to people about my "lack of beliefs" without being chastised. I have lost friends when they found out that I am athiest/antitheistic.
Well, enough about me and I hope to learn alot while I am here. Thanks for your time. =0)
