Other than that, I had fishes.
Other other than that, I fed stray cats on the street, I had many such cats who would flock at my door when I brought them food.
I took a normal soda bread and cooked it in broth, and then served it to them. They loved it so much I had to bring in seconds to finally sate them.

Did it look like this?

No, these are like parrots. In Turkish it's name is "muhabbet kuşu". I'll google the name and find it's english equivalent for you.
Budgerigar. A weird name, really, it has nothing to do with the name we have for them.

I had three of them. One we gave away, one became too fat, and died from eating too much, another one I gave to some vietnamese child in Germany.

I guess it's that.
I especially loved my first one. He would play with the earring of my father.

I had a buddy when I was young that had one. They're very pretty birds. I will admit I tire of birds flinging their seeds/food everywhere and I probably would never own one.

Oh but they are the best companions yet. They are easier to keep than dogs, that is for sure.
I also enjoy their friendship a lot more.

I had 2 budgies. The green guy's name was Oddish, the blue one was IcePie.

Sadly, I had to give them away to a friend because these fiends nearly killed the little dudes...

The black fatty is Gloomypuss the Majestic and Kind. The other is The Cosmic Kitty, less formally known as Cosmo.

We also have a Syrian Black Bear Hamster named Spike. He's a beast, as hamsters go. I don't have any pics of him, but I'll do my best.

I have a verrry friendly black cat called Mookie and a grumpy old lady of a cat called Mindy, also a German Shepard/Akita cross called Kiera. My wife also runs a cattery, so we have lots of paying guests (all feline!).... the furry beasts pay my bills!

Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups

Arguing with an engineer is like wrestling with a pig in mud ..... after a while you realise that the pig likes it!

I'd rather have my dog, she is like a child to me. She likes to cheer me up when I'm in a mood and play... I definitely see her as my child. A furry, weird child.

Took the dogs for a walk along a ridge above Tomales Bay, near Point Reyes National Seashore this past Sunday.
