Good and bad are just concepts. Also people die, so do animals. It's part of nature. It's the way things are. Either you can accept it or deny it. Reality bends for no one.

You do what you can for yourself. Build a future, make plans. There is no guarantee that life will be fine. Many children, even babies die before they've had the chance to live. Once again, it's nature.

The truth often is cold and hard, the world/galaxy/universe wasn't made for us. To the cosmos and all in it, we don't matter. 95% of the universe is empty space. All the planets, suns, galaxies make up just 5% of it. We are just a tiny tiny fraction of that 5%. When we die we simply cease to exist. For some, it hurts to hear that.

But yes, religion is a human universal, societies develop theism independently of each other, no matter how far flung or isolated. Its like language or art, cutting down to our very roots and what it means to be a human. Humans will always seek out God.
