No, not really. Specifically if there was no "christ", agreed?

Yes,'IF,which has not been established.

In logic, the premise is always assumed to be true for the sake of argument.Hence,a logical inference a may be valid but untrue.

Are you arguing against a person or a philosophy?

I cannot agree. With or without a "christ", we still have teachings from a book...

I generally question everything and accept the answers that make the most sense to me. So far, the Bible hasn't had many of those answers; science, atheists and observation have.

Generally, yes, Christianity can have good ideas or thoughts on things, regardless of what the Bible says. However, for the context that the line was used, no, it isn't. The basis of what was typed said that the Jesus myth is real because the Bible says it is and the Bible is always right. If we can find a place where the Bible is wrong (and it's not hard to find such a place), you've destroyed the idea that the Bible is always right. I suppose you can still be a believer even if the Bible isn't perfect, but you lose that specific defense of your faith.

@Pad. Oh, IDK, I think the whole Christ bit isn't what I would call an open question. Some schmuck named Jesus does not equal Christ, after all.

@Cat. Then you wouldn't have christianity, you'd have teachings from a book. Amusingly, this is precisely what the situation seems to be at present, but for some strange reason the christ bit is important (not to me mind you, but to christians themselves). "Hallmark-on-Rice Paper" doesn't have the ring that "Christianity" does, I'll give you that.

Joh 3:18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
Joh 3:19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.
Joh 3:20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.
Joh 3:21 But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God."

As you can see per these verses, only evil people don't come towards the "light" and believe in Jesus.

Here is a basic argument that in my opinion is sound and refutes Christianity:

If Christianity is true, then the Bible is true.
If the Bible is true, then these verses are true.
If these verses are true, then all disbelievers in the son of God are evil
There exists disbelievers that are good.
Therefore these verses are not true.
Therefore the Bible is not true.
Therefore Christianity is not true.

As for proof of "There exists disbelievers that are good and love the light". I know my family are good but disbelieve in Christianity for reasons unrelated to evil and hating the light of God or loving the darkness. I'm sure many people know people that are disbelievers in Christianity but are good people.

Well it certainly refutes a literal reading of the bible, but that's not so hard to do. Any christian who didn't subscribe to literalism would reject your 3rd premise. Fundies would probably reject your 4th, if they weren't too busy trying to chase you with a pitchfork for not just taking the whole thing on faith.

Sometimes it's hard for me to appreciate the need some of us feel to refute religion. It must intrude more into your life than it does into mine. Where it does intrude -family get togethers, presidential elections, etc.- logical argument never changes anyone's mind it seems. So why bother? Just ignore it where possible and beat it back with a stick when it gets too close.

Actually after years of bablical research I have been able to come up with the exact image of god

Adam was made in gods image and eve was the rib closest to his heart.
Now depute this literal truth.

It could be worse. Some schools of thought hold it that the rib which became Eve wasn't an actual rib from Adam's chest but his baculum, or his penis-bone (as you say, the rib closest to his heart); accounting for why human males don't have one. I'm sure the internet is full of pictures like that.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
