Set in Morrowind, Skyrim, Cyrodiil, Elsweyr (Khajit homeland), Hammerfell (Redguard) and Summerset Isles (High Elves).
Yeah I heard about this.
Not sure what to make of it.
My favourite games saga was already destroyed by releasing TOR instead of Star Wars KotOR 3, all so they could release a fuckin' MMO.
They say it's independent and won't affect the single player series but it undoubtedly will.
To me, TES is simply not a multiplayer game.

As long as they focus on the RPG element, it'll be fine. It'll be fun having bandits and the like that are real people than just AI, and fun being them, if they allow it.

Meh, if open-world PvP isn't optional, I doubt I'll be the least bit interested in it, despite being a big fan of the TES franchise.
If, on the other hand, they manage to create a world faithful to the TES lore that (as you say) focuses on the RPG element, doesn't require the traditional MMO grind, and allows a casual player to enjoy the game without being ganked by hardcore asshats every ten seconds, then it will probably be interesting to me.
If it's another MMORPG along the lines of WoW with a TES skin then I'm not interested.

This.
Every time I see an MMO lately it's basically just the same game as WoW.
It will be interesting to see if it's actually different. I'd like to think so.

Don't like the locked in 3rd person part.

I'm with you. It concerns me that Bethesda's parent company, Zenimax is actually producing and scripting it. If it deviated from TES lore I will not be a happy bunny!

It's not looking good is it.
Who actually plays the majority of any Elder Scrolls in 3rd person? Seriously?

I don't like many first person games in general... you also have a wider view in third person.
