For $190 million each

For $190 million each
you should get a plane which is not restricted to....

Quote:the F-22s in Japan must fly under 44,000 feet so that the flawed vests will not be required, and are on a 30-minute "tether," meaning they must be within 30 minutes of an emergency landing site.

http://apnews.excite.com/article/2012092...6O401.html

All this for a plane which has never flown a single combat mission in spite of all our assorted "wars."

The military-industrial complex in all its money-sucking glory.

At least we know that anybody who bought them (America and japan?) won't be able to attack as many foreigners with them as they otherwise could?

The amount of waste in the military is disgusting. Spending so much money to just make the world a worse place. Costa Rica hasn't had a military since 1948. Needless to say they are in a far far less stable part of the world. It's like one giant welfare program where the side effect is killing people.

The JSF must represent the ultimate in wasted money.

Twenty plus years and billions of dollars of development have produced a handful of fighters that don't fucking work.

If you're not supposed to ride faster than your guardian angel can fly then mine had better get a bloody SR-71.
