I used to draw and paint a little when I met my wife. Early on I had her over to see some drawings, before I knew she was a professional artist. She was very forbearing. I'd say I probably draw a little better and can hold a candle to her composition sense but she blows me away working with color.

Now I've moved my attempts at art outside to the garden. Every year we throw a studio/garden party. One year she turned one of my photos from the garden into a woven piece which she photographed. We used this as the image on our invites that year:



My own artistic impulses are now consumed by making the garden. Here are a couple of drawings I did to show online gardening friends its layout:

I'm not qualified to judge the cartoon (Manga?) drawings but I think this one is pretty incredible. The textures and color in the background make an impressive backdrop that really shows off the bony hand and rose.

Well, i gotta admit that this wasn't drawn by me, but back in the day when I trolled JakeTtheBAMF on Deviantart ,
I actually got an idea to draw a picture of several other trolls in a pose reminiscent of the Inglourious Basterds poster. And for the record, Jake Tanner hates Tarantino, or, for that matter, any movie that requires more thought than the average Transformers movie.

To quote one of his journal entries:

Now that Jake's been banned (it happened two weeks ago today), it appears that many of the images made of him are being deleted from the site, but I decided to upload this one to imageshack just in case this one is done.
