Who won the vice-presidental debate last night?
October 12, 2012 at 10:15 am
I have read many think it's a tie but I think Biden won it. He was strong, he did not hesitate when he answered. I have a newer respect for him after last night though i think he was too condescending which may hurt him.

Me - I didn't watch it and instead listened to several episodes of a podcast on the history of Britain - I've worked through most of the Roman invasions. I won because, you see, I was educated and didn't feel like throwing anything at the screen.

Sorry, but it would take the threat of extreme physical and psychological torture to get me to watch any debate let alone one between two vice-presidential candidates.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

I watched... Can I vote just for Biden, not Obama? I kept waiting for him to call Ryan a "whippersnapper."

I think the win/loss paradigm isn't the best one for evaluating it. Both candidates seemed to have very different objectives.
Biden seemed intent on a performance that would raise the morale of dems/libs. That appears to have been successful as Obama supporters report being happy with it. However I doubt that his sneering and condescension was viewed positively by many people who weren't already Obama supporters.
Ryan's intent seemed to be to appeal to women and seniors, and to look credible in a presidential context. The polls indicate that he was successful with those objectives, but I don't think he did anything that would change the mind of Obama supporters.

Every other statement that came out of Ryan's mouth was factually untrue... If you can win on lies, then I guess we've all lost.

Ryan looked entirely outclassed. He is not worthy of sharing a name with me.

From what I heared publicly broadcasted political debates, between candidates running for public office, in your country are more about who can create the best image of himself, and that facts or in some cases the truth, doent eaven matter.
So why watch?
