Left on my Car

RE: Left on my Car
Billy Joel's "Only the Good Die Young" is a fantastic reminder not to wait on a being that doesn't get back to you.

On the flip side, if I ever write a book explaining the over 40 issues I have with Quran, it cannot be accused that I did so because I was not pious and wanted to follow my "desires". Oh did I resist my desires, did I ever.

That's a shame. Life should be embraced, not resisted. Responsibly, but embraced nonetheless.

I've never understood the idea of being devout equating to denying one's humanity. Sexuality, in particular, comes to mind. The idea if god created us perfectly, and gave us sexual urges, but then said these were bad things that we should resist, has never made a damn bit of sense to me. If we were created perfectly then sexuality is perfect as well.

Well, Islam never said not to have sex. It simply said to have it in marriage. And it said not to marry fornicators (defined as those whom regularly have sex outside marriage and didn't repent and stop).

Back in the day, it was common for young men and young women to get married.

Now it's harder. You have to get education, then good job, get established, then finally a father will let you marry his daughter.

To be fair, there wasn't anything to prevent kids from being born back in the day right?

So sex outside marriage can mean some kids without a father to take care of them. And that's not really good for the kids.

Now we have tools to stop that.

They lie. I found another doorway that has the added characteristic of being cool:

I'm talking like Catholic church, "impure thoughts will send you to hell" type demonizing of human sexuality. I get that children born outside of marriage is/was a huge social stigma and created (and in some societies still creates) questions of "who is responsible for supporting this child." But the no masturbation thing the Catholics harp on about is just silly.

*Sigh*. I don't even know how to embrace life now. That humanity part in me was practically killed in the quest to kill the lower self. So use to the ascetic life style.

"Life should be embraced" vs "whomever desires the life of this world....these shall have nothing but the fire in the next world". So much prayer for God to remove the love of the life of this world from my heart.

I thought it was "evil" to desire the life of this world. No reason but indoctrination.

It's not just sexual thoughts, the bible states whomever loves the world, doesn't have the love of God.

It's nearly impossible to get rid of the desire of the world, but I practically killed mine through my youth.

I'm trying to build it up now.
