I wouldn't say it is silly, it is only silly when you project that on a species that evolved as omnivores. If one doesn't want to eat animals or use animal products, fine, just don't go Jihad on the rest of us.

That argument is false. Pigs are omnivores. In Australia, and most of the developed world, it is illegal to feed them meat.

Um huh? Pigs eat meat, yea so? So does a domestic cat and dog. There are places in the world where our "pets" are food to other people.

You are talking about cultural predilections in a moment in time. I am talking about an evolution that is diverse and always has been. We did evolve as omnivores, what we were prior to our current form doesn't change that.

And it still doesn't change that anyone thinking it is going to be possible for our species to give up eating animals is absurd. Not saying you are saying that, just saying that is just another form of utopia in the same narcissistic vein as worship of state or god.
