Cuddly killers, how house cats are an enviormental threat.

My cat killed a huge rat the other day. He's not a very big cat either, which is unusual because rats are actually capable of fighting back and killing cats which is why many cats don't bother rats at all! But he's a good kitty, generally he likes catching mice not birds. Although birds are dumber than rodents and far easier to kill!

The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

Cats will attack everything that moves, which under circumstances might even kill them. My cat brought me a snake one time. She also attacked a marten.

Frogs, lizzards, birds anything.

I found a dead cardinal in our yard recently. I suspect our tabby killed it, though I did find the bird in a different area than where he normally brings us his "gifts." He's killed a couple of smallish-medium sized rats and a couple squirrels, this was the first bird that I've seen. He's belled, but if he did kill this bird, then obviously the bell isn't doing any good :-( poor birdy... bad kitty... but if we keep him inside he goes nuts, tearing up furniture, carpets, and he has a special thing for shredding the toilet paper. He's the first cat I've ever owned who insists on going outside regularly, and I've had several cats over the years.

I couldnt be capable to keep a cat inside to be honest. I would feel bad, it`s a wild animal to some extent and I feel that it somehow deserves to be in "the wild".

Not quite true. He was playing with a small lizard the other day, but he didn't kill it he let it go. He hunts at night, thus he doesn't really bother birds.
