No, not disgreeing with someone's value purely out of so called "respect" for the other person is in fact an act of profound mockery and contempt for the other person's intellectural and moral maturity.

I used to feel the same way, but then I grew a pair. I only draw the line at cursing. I honestly believe that cursing shows a sign of weakness in debate. If one curses, the opposition has won by appealing to your emotional side. I prefer to remain focused in debate and get the better of them through intelligent word lingo and logic.

It's not so far off, Mystic, as there are many people who feel that if you vehemently disagree with them and find their beliefs and values disgusting, then you are personally insulting them.
Oddly, the one person who never seemed to succumb to this (I could just be misremembering) was dear old Mehmet. He fought "the good fight" for his values (which were deplorable to my western modern eyes) but never acted like a complete jackass about it.
