Double Standard

RE: Double Standard
That's funny, because as an atheist, I always feel like the minority.

Same here!

But, they believe other wise. Their train of though goes, if you are not in the same religious view as they are, then you are against them. Everyone against them is working for the devil. The devil is a powerful force, which is trying to seduce them into the evils of the world. They must pray and believe away! They believe the devil's forces are much larger than their own. It is funny and scary how they believe they are the minority in USA, when the population is predominately Christian/Catholic faith.

Yes. At work almost everyone is a Penny or a Cathy. We had a seminar the other day regarding LGBT and I could hear smirks and all of that going on between those girls. During a break I heard them start having abomination oriented conversations. This was so annoying to me. All that talk about godly stuff and if I were to say one thing against it I would look like the bully.

RE: Double Standard
You definitely need an intervention so that they at least save their shunning for when they're off the clock and out of the work environment. I don't think you can do this by yourself since they've already shown that they are not mature enough to work it out with you directly.

Does their behavior make sense given that they've got religion? Not at all but sadly lots of religious seem not too fond of thinking generally.

RE: Double Standard
This sounds like a hostile work environment. HR should fire these people. Religion and politics are usually forbidden from conversations at work. But, again how religious is the HR person. You could be in a sticky situation. I would read the employee handbook, if available, or contact HR for the proper course. I do not put up with fake victims at work. I expect my employees to work and get along.

RE: Double Standard
I AM in a sticky situation. I've been working in this company for just a little over a month. I don't have much credibility yet.

I'll still do something, because I know some of my clients from my previous job and I do care about their health. I need to work as a team or I can't do much for them. I just need to think really hard of a good way to do this.

Yikes. I don't envy your situation at all. For what its worth, I've found that keeping politics and religious topics separate from the workplace is a policy conducive to professionalism. Your coworkers have not apparently learned that.

Right. And running with scissors would not be a good idea at work either due to safety policies. Wink Shades

Just sayin'

I agree, though. Angel Cloud

I feel and understand you. I was in the same sticky situation, when I was in uniform. The problem was, I could not quit either and that person was the boss.

I hope the best for you. Keep a low profile and perform your best.
