I'm generally a fan of capitalism, though it certainly has its drawbacks. If I was to say that capitalism had a negative effect on our mental state, it would be that sometimes I feel as though living in a society filled with the competitiveness drive of capitalism has caused us to become competitive when we don't need to be.
