"we do not believe in a god or gods..." "we believe in a god or gods..." is the same statement, the truth is that you don't know so why do you have a belief, and that is my problem with both atheism and religion, not the label itself
And were is this collective authority over all atheism which has the power to talk about atheists as a " we"
There is no such thing. Hence - there is no such thing as atheist dogma. No matter what else you may stirr arround in your pathetic simplistic mind to comfort yourself whilest the globe keeps turning arround the sun and not arround you.

So you proved nothing and are unwilling to prove anything.
Not knowing but doing reaserch is what I do.
I dont have the answeres, but I search for them.
You dont have the answeres and seek refuge and comfort in boasting about how you dont know anything.
You are pathetic.

ok lets get back to the debate then,
i think we left off here
"we believe in a god or gods..." vs "we do not believe in a god or gods..." are either of these ideas, which are the same, testable? if not than what is the present conclusion on the matter?
sometimes the truth hurts.. sorry bout your feeelings
and i do not profess to not know anything. It is only through seeking answers that i came to this realization...i do not consider myself smart nor is that what i am projecting... it's not easy to admit that you don't know something specifically, i am not saying i know nothing... but as far as our origins and whether or not a diety or dieties exist... i had to learn to be honest withself and say that I do not know... my other options were to adopt the dogmatic beliefs of either religion or atheism.
so i do boast about that, i call it an evolution of thinking, good luck on your growth process.

Please hear our plea, oh ye mods and admins. There is an imbecile shitting all over the forums. It goes by christ-something-or-other. Poe, dick .. you decide but, if it please the court, please do ban it. I will, in the mean time, set my controls to ignore but there is just so much shit from this lunatic all over the fucking place. Sure would be nice to be rid of it.

So what was the point of phrasing this thread as a question, if you're not interested in anyone's responses but your own?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

i am trying to help people that are trapped in dogmatic beliefs and ideologies that are unproven.
it's not that i am uninterested in anyone's response, but nobody has offered anything remotely debatable in this idea:
mankind has no way to test or prove either the existence or non-existence of a god or gods. a belief in either is dogmatic. if both religion and atheism would be able to admit that they did not know and not come to a conclusion based on lack of evidence, they could find a place where they didn't have to have someone that is right and someone that is wrong, war.
I am promoting peace here, and i hate sentences that start like this but;
the truth is that mankind does not know whether a god or gods exist and there is no way to prove it at this point, it is a compromise for both parties to make to attain peace in society.. i chose to propose this to the atheist community because i think they are closer to being reasonable people.. so far i have to admit that i may have been wrong.
