God doesn't threaten you,

Philippians 2:12, 'Work out your salvation with fear and trembling'

Philippians 2:12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, (13 for it is God who works in you, both to will and work for His good pleasure.

See the word I put in bold, do you know what that means in context to the passage.
The verse is not a threat, I do not know why you think so, the word fear is often used as, respect for God. This verse is about Paul not being with the Philippians to help guide them and they need to work hard at keeping up the good work they were doing and to be prepared for God to work through them.

Combining 2 Timothy 3:16-17 and Hebrews 12:1-12, we see that God does rebuke, correct, train, teach, punish, and discipline.

Doesn't any good parent do those things.

But this one is my favorite:

You got to be kidding, right, how do you get torture from Christ's warning to Peter that violence brings on violence. Christ was probably disappointed Peter forgot His teaching of turn the other cheek.

Hell is eternal torture. To reject Christ is to submit to this torture. Constantly having the fear of hell on your mind is torture for your entire life.

BTW, Revelations is an entire book about torture at the hands of God.

Show me where the Bible mentions the word torture, you are applying an interpretation to scripture that's incorrect on every level. I do not have hell on my mind all the time nor do I worry about it.

you are born to the destination of hell, just as everyone else is. God does offer a way to change that destination, the offer is to all, and those who accept it will have their destination changed.

Your god is an asshole since all those without a chance to hear his words are doomed. He is, therefore, torturing them for no good reason. Babies are all doomed, for they weren't old enough to accept him.

No they are not, they will be judged by a standard God has set for such people and babies do not know evil so they are not doomed either.

As I thought, you completely missed my point, even though it was obvious. I wasn't complaining about the number of atheists, I was noting that the number of atheists makes any one particular atheist unnecessary. Duh.

That's a non sequitur. Double-duh. The point is that I can discuss with any number of atheists, this clown isn't necessary, so I have no reason to put up with his attitude. I wasn't even talking to him at first - he butted in. Seems rather arrogant to me to butt into someone else's conversation, then say "Well, this one was close, but since you showed a bit of gumption back there, I wouldn't mind more discussion, but if you go the SW route and get all tautological on me with arguments from ignorance and the like, then I will end it." You're usually pretty decent, I would think you'd agree.

Then put him on ignore. There's no rule that says you have to respond to every single post by every single person. A simple acknowledgement would be common courtesy, but not obligatory. There's simply no call to make some grandstand play out of it like you tried to do.
