Religious theists: question about your morality

Religious theists: question about your morality
I've heard a lot about the idea that religious morality is all that keeps some people from randomly doing whatever they want without caring about the consequences. So my question to theists is if you suddenly lost belief in your religion, how likely would it be that you would radically alter your behaviour towards others?

It's an honest question. And being that it's an honest question, you may not get a lot of answers from the theists on this board. But I give you ten thousand kudos for asking it!

Thank you Smile

Yes, it's no trick question. I'm genuinely interested, because this is something I hear about all the time.

If the answer is, "Well I'd never lose my religion" then you won't ever have to find out if your answer is true, so just go with the hypothetical Smile

I hear about it too. Unfortunately, there might only be a handful of responses on here because of those individuals being in the minority here. But now that you've posted it, I'd like to hear the answers too.

Yeah, I wonder what would happen if I asked this on a christian forum? Would I get banned?

RE: Religious theists: question about your morality
For sure. Within minutes because well, you're asking them to be honest about their morality.

RE: Religious theists: question about your morality
A Christian would add a pile of things to the existing definition of morality, so they would never be satisfied. I am just as likely to hate, without being guilty of murder, or thinking a woman is beautiful without being guilty of adultery (thank-you Ray Comfort). So by the 'Christian definition' of morality I am likely to be more moral, because I have fewer reasons to hate people for.

Didn't vote as I'm outside the parameters. Good question though.

Drich is banned, you're not going to get many answers
