This, to be exact.
I used to be a big metal-head until I got sick of the lack of innovation and annoyingly pretentious online communities. I still enjoy some, like the afore-mentioned Cynic, Mastodon, Dillinger Escape Plan,
If I had to pick a favourite band, it would be Nine Inch Nails. To be honest I was CRAZY into NIN for 2 or 3 years, then dropped off for a year and have just recently started listening to NIN songs again.
Now I'm all over the map, listening to whats new, to old stuff I never got around to listening to, etc. I guess alt-rock and classic rock would be the genres I listen to most, if you feel the need to pigeon-hole like that.
Recently, I've been all over the new Puscifer EP, and trying to like the Them Crooked Vultures album.

Orbital. Then some more Orbital. Then perhaps a fuckload more Orbital.
They're my favourite band.
And when I said "perhaps" I of course meant definitely.

Blind Guardian, Rhapsody, In Flames, Children of Bodom, Megadeth, David Bowie, Rolling Stones, Alice Cooper, NoFX, Sex Pistols.
In general power metal, thrash, punk and old school rock. I listen to a lot of Bach and Paganini too, but they don't really fit in the "bands" category.

Iron Maiden is my current favorite. I also like nightwish, black sabbath, within temptation, godsmack, staind, joe satriani, blind guardian, rammstein, tool, and a lot more.

Old my chemical romance, Bullet for my valentine, Paramore, Fallout boy.
i love them all, but it goes from most favourite to slightly les favourite, still love 'em all
