Psychic and the wife
August 14, 2013 at 6:02 pm
Recently my wife has wanted to see a psychic. One of her coworkers turned her on to this psychic, saying that she is really good and so on. I have no interest whatsoever in seeing said psychic. Yet, wife wants to drag me into this and I just don't know what to say.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would tell her it is a ridiculous waste of time and money - and she'd better not be spending any of mine.

(This post was last modified: August 14, 2013 at 6:07 pm by Something completely different.)
I remember what my father always use to do when Jehovers witnesses came bye. Others would be rude and just slam the doo, which made them come bye more often.
My father let them in, served them tea, was very nice and then ingaged them into a 4 hour conversation in which he turned their world arround and fucked with their heads.
A friend of mine once took a hitchhiker with him who than started threatening him and being scary, so my friend scared him by stepping on the gas and driving 100 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.
Same here I propose. Dont see it as a pain in the ass, see it as an opportunity to make a point through amusing yourself on the cost of others.

Tell your wife, "If this psychic is so great, why is she doing readings for a pittance when she could easily earn one million dollars by winning the JREF Challenge?"

God allowed 200,000 people to die in an earthquake. So what makes you think he cares about YOUR problems?

Psychics are con artists. Tell her you don't want to waste your money. Or you're a pussy.

Ask the wife why the "psychic" isn't cleaning up in the stock market or playing the horses instead of conning suckers out of chump change?

I would probably say something to my wife like, "Why would I want to go to a psychic when I haven't had a lobotomy?"
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell
