Measles Outbreak at Vaccine-Denying Church
RE: Measles Outbreak at Vaccine-Denying Church
So Drich, are you going to admit that you were wrong in your foxholes claim, now that you've been provided with multiple examples to the contrary? Or will you keep trundling on without ever accepting an error?

Quote:I love it when new people just jump in the middle of the conversation and just assume the points they bring up have not be discussed yet... Oh wait no I don't. I actually hate that, that is why I am going to tell you to go back and re read what has already been written if you want an answer to your question.

Yeah, I've read your brain droppings. So what? Your position evolved from snide bullshit about atheists staring down the barrel of eternity (complete with a too-eager offer to pray for someone to get a ghastly disease to test the hypothesis that everyone is as childishly terrified of their mortality as the religious nut) to a grudging acknowledgement that only atheists really know if they remain atheists in foxholes. What do you want -- a cookie? A ribbon?

Meanwhile, my observation stands. You don't know a damn thing about the soldiers in the picture, yet you are quick to assume that they are posers because (surprise!) they were in a relatively safe spot when they had the picture taken.

I gave you what you needed to look it up and if a book source and eye witness visitor accounts aren't good enough for you then I'd say take a long hard look at that book you consider Truth. I trust people who visit Mauthausen over your after-the-fact piece of fictional literature any day. Its not like my souls on the line after all, its a quote. Im not telling you to repent your sins over it or anything.
love how you yet again have yet to offer anything up but Dodge tactics the the actual message my post was portraying.

Also what sense does it make to reply to mine and not his? I sure hope you have a response Drich. Ignoring what I have to say is nothing like ignoring what he's just given you to mill over.

So, no you don't have a link to this quote. Is that your answer?

Are you expecting me to get upset, is that it? Well I'm not. Even though you are being horribly upsetting. Twice now you've ignored the main point of my post.

Here's 3 book references for you. If you're doing the math that's two more than you provide me to believe your god is the one and only creator of all things and that my lack of submission equals eternal damnation.
Plus one modern day eyewitness testimonial about how travelers who go there are given an Austrian video in Austrian about the graffiti on the cell block wall. I suggest that if you want to know for absolute positive certainty, go there your goddamned self. Cell block C at Mauthausen. Take a translator.

Frankly, I don't give a shit whether or not it's there. It was thought, it was felt. I can say just as easily as you seem to proclaim as fact about atheists in foxholes (despite credible evidence against such a belief in your case), that the God on Trial trial went on in all of their heads regardless of whether there was a formal or informal trial.

What you're doing is diverting from the main pulp of the subject, here. I'm disappointed in you, Drich I really am.
I am a walking living breathing testimonial that contradicts what you're saying as truth and shows it to be a bold faced fucking lie. Pray for me, Drich. Pray me be smitten down you know you want to. Then die knowing that I died with only one last thing to say and that was:

Reply with a non answer. Do it. You aren't earning any points with anyone by ignoring me with diversion tactics.

Here, I'll take out the confusing parts for you. My point still stands. Do you have the balls to address it seriously? I think not.

Drich Wrote:I am saying if you do not think you would ask God to spare your life when face with a terrible disease like aids, I am asking you to allow me to pray that God strike you down with aids, cancer or whatever it takes for you to beg and or grovel for your life. Why?To simply prove the point that there are no atheist when you are staring down the barrel of eternity. That is how I know those 'elite controllers' were healed. Because I know they prayed. Even the ones who thought they were atheist.

I'm not just talking about " a bad day, week, month, or even year." Again the offer is if you think you can, you will stand firm in your beliefs and not beg for mercy/life just say the word, and I will ask God to infect you with something or place you in a situation where you can find out for yourself.

Not a terrible life. A deadly disease. Or to be put in a life and death situation. There is nothing I am offering to do for you that I have not already prayed for myself. In that, a long time ago I asked God to do whatever it took, even if it meant my life, to help me see and understand Him. I now offer that on your behalf for you. Not as a curse but an opportunity to not only know yourself, but in the journey to get to know God.

For he who cherishes his life above all else will loose it. And he who forsakes his life for Christ will gain eternal life.

Just know I generally get what I pray for.

Ohhh Drich. I know I'm late to the party here, but.. Fuck if I don't have a thing or two to say about this.
First off: Pray for me. Pray hard and long. Pray that I'm taken the fuck down with yet another deadly disease, sir. Do it.

Secondly, I've looked down that barrel many a time, and I have to say that actually doing that, is what made me an athiest.
But hey, what do I know eh? I'm just another human being with an opposing viewpoint to yours, based on my own testimony of my own experiences. You'll just toss me out of your considerations won't you?
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

Drich would never think any shit thrown by him on behalf of christianity to be wrong, so long as the shit sticks, seems to stick, or seems to him that it ought to stick regardless of whether it actually sticks or not.

In this sense he is the essence of the christian morality.

Never. It's just a fact that a lot of Americans have a tendency to get a bit riled when you smear the troops. If you think it's OK with God to do it, that's your business, just as it's our business to respond to your allegations about them.

It's factually incorrect and no one here has claimed they are. But I can see why you'd want to make up something to go after rather than deal with what we're really saying.

You can't identify such people by glancing at a photograph. The charitable thing would be to assume they're truthful until proven otherwise, but clearly, being charitable is not something you value.

(August 27, 2013 at 11:59 pm)Drich Wrote: Not the support troops do not deserve honor or distinction. They are not to be held in the same light even amongst themselves as those who actually fight and die for this country. To do so robs the men who have fought and died of the honor due them. They can not speak against this dishonorable practice, so I will.. Even if it ruffles the feathers of a few a-holes who think their service to this country calls for the personal worship of every man woman and child, no matter what they did.
(Good or bad)

The 'dishonorable practice' is something you made up. You saw something and didn't like the implications of it being true so you made up a story about the people in the photo entirely out of whole cloth to justify calling them 'd-bags'. Now THAT is a dishonorable practice.

(August 27, 2013 at 11:59 pm)Drich Wrote: The simple fact is not every man who serves this country is a hero. Some are the exact opposite.

You can't tell who isn't a hero by their photograph.

Even if they're not heroes, they volunteered to serve their country in any capacity required of them. They all deserve the benefit of the doubt until there's actual evidence they have failed in their duty.

You don't know they're secondary troops. You made that up, for the sole purpose of allowing yourself to feel entitled to disrespect them. Look where you find yourself: advocating for a presumption of guilt for soldiers on the basis of 'they can't all be heroes'. What has brought you here is an inability to admit you're wrong about anything.

And someone who can't admit when they're wrong should not be trusted to say the truth because they can't be trusted to know it if it bites them on the ass.

I think his going from "everyone prays when faced with death" to "only the atheist truly knows" is the closest we'll ever get to an admittance of incorrectness.

I have to admit, however, that I am impressed that we even got that. Baby steps are still progress, you know.

We went from talk about vaccines and diseases to Drich wanting to pray for us to get AIDS to his claim that everyone prays when faced with death which inevitably led to the "no atheists in foxholes" bullshit.

It wouldn't matter much to me if they were. In modern warfare, the battle lines aren't clear, and people in the "rear" come under fire as well. In the first Gulf War, Iraq was firing missiles at people who weren't even in Iraq, much less on any "front".
