The Toilet Seat Dilemma
#41
RE: The Toilet Seat Dilemma
Dogs that drink out of the toilet tend to make this easy for me....

I always put the lid back down.

So I'm always expecting to lift something up.

When I lived alone I always left it up and made sure to put it down whenever I took the browns to the superbowl. But after getting married I started leaving it down out of respect for my wife. But I still think it's everyone's responsibility to check it before conducting business.

Besides, seat down we'll just piss all over it anyway...

I have three sons but seat down is the rule here because the wife is just more vocal on the matter.

Whenever a woman complains to me about leaving the seat up, I kindly remind them that they've been liberated.

I don't want to feel around for the damn seat in the dark. If the seat's up, why would I want to touch the rim?

It's courteous to put it down at night when women are sleepy and in the dark and trying not to wake your ass up by turning on the light.

Of interest: my sister is trying to teach her son to put the seat down because my 6-year-old niece is so small she literally falls in and gets stuck. And she's a little learning-impaired, so...

Zazzy,

Try feeling for the seat by the tank. Feel for the seat in the 'up' position. If it's down, you'll feel the big tank and not the seat ring....

Out of curiosity, if the seat was left down and I (a man) needed to piss at night could I blame the warm yellow mess on the seat on you for not being courteous enough to put the seat up?

I've often wondered why it was a man's duty to put the seat down, but not the woman's duty to put the seat back up...
