What about me as a christian terrified of hell desperately praying for god to strengthen my faith and make a better Christian?

As a Christian why did you fear what was not in your future, were you demanding more of yourself than God did, could it be He gave you enough faith yet you rejected it as being to little because it did not fit your idea of salvation, yet it fit God's.

Quote:Because instead of helping these people he chose for them to burn in hell instead.

Now I see why you feared hell while being a Christian, you did not believe what Christ said. Christ said that the Father desires no one go to eternal punishment. Also free will was okay for you, but you would deny it to those you spoke of above, that seems quite unfair. Those in bold.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Where did god come from? Why can't matter and energy exist eternally by some unknown properties, by unknown laws, which may be the case if there are multiple universes? This seems at least as reasonable as god, except your "hypothesis" has no predictability value whereas theoretical physicists are constantly making progress by testing their theorems in the real world.

thats a cop out from my original question. you can't prove god doesn't exist. checkmate atheists.

I am the reincarnation of William Shakespeare. You can't prove that I'm not. Checkmate.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I choose not to believe in things there are no evidence for.
Others it seems are not so picky.

I don't choose to not believe in things that there is no evidence for I just can't help it.
I genuinely tried all my life to believe but with no evidence my critical thinking mind won't allow me to believe.

With the failed christian logic aside, I agree. I posses an innate ability to detect bullshit. Kind of a nice feature, if you ask me. Cool ShadesCool Shades

What does that solve? Is an eternally necessary being who exists within time and space as well as outside of it any less absurd than the notion that the Universe created itself or an had "infinite regress" of causes?

Wait, here's my favorite nonsensical dogma that is supposed to make sense of something: Jesus was FULLY man and FULLY God!

How much faith did Christ say that is required? That of a mustard seed. Everyone has been given that amount of faith.
" Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

It's odd to me that nobody in the history of mankind has ever moved a mountain.
