A small thanks to the resident Theists..
RE: A small thanks to the resident Theists..
GC,
Please provide referebce for your claim of your version of hell. This is the hell Ive found biblical reference for :

Romans 1
20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

Matthew 25:46 NIV
"Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

... And Hell is a sulfery fiery torment for eternity.

Revelations 21
8 But for the cowardly and [d]unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and [e]brimstone, which is the second death.”

Revelations 14 (NEW TESTAMENT)
9 A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives its mark on their forehead or on their hand, 10 they, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. They will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.”

Revelations 19
“Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, for true and just are his judgments. He has condemned the great prostitute who corrupted the earth by her adulteries. He has avenged on her the blood of his servants.”

And again they shouted: “Hallelujah! The smoke from her goes up for ever and ever.”

Revelations 20:10
And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beastu and the false prophetv had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

John 3:36
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him.

(Rev. 19:19-21)

But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.

1 John 5:12
He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

Acts 4:12
12 "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."

1 John 5:10-12
The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son. And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.

Matthew 10:33
33 "But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.

Revelations 14
9 For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.

Jeremiah states,

"`How can you say, "We [the Jews] are wise, for we have the law of the LORD," when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely?' (From the NIV Bible, Jeremiah 8:8)
[b]
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

GC has done the noble thing and tucked his tail between his legs and run away the last three times I've faced him. I'm sure he'll do something equally as noble here.

Actually, don't. We all know where it comes from. Leave your pants on. Spare us the horror.

I don't think it's very noble to kick at someone after they decided to leave a discussion.. If you insist on keeping track of someone abruptly leaving a discussion why don't you count how many times you have up and left something we have discussed, or dropped a topical discussion for a personal attack on me or my family in hopes of trying to save your pride for the red herring you appeal to.

You are one of the smartest people here in my opinion, I even voted you best debater. Isn't that enough, to know you are far and above the vast majority? (The fact that people leave your arguements says this better than any peer voted award.) So when you drive someone to the point where they can not respond, why is their still a need to go further? Do your personal beliefs not allow for a live and let live philosophy? Was Buddha or your ancestors that much against mercy you must lash out against it when you get the chance?

When you decide to leave do I try and kick you in the teeth as you leave?

I leave her arguments because I get tired of being insulted for no reasons. She 's a good debater when she keeps it civil.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

@ luckie, I haven't answered your question because it took me many years of study, prayer and coming to an understanding of God to come to my belief of hell, I've stated many times it's not what most believe but for me it's the one that makes sense. I believe that the way I see hell makes it far worse than a hell of fire, physical pain can be far less painful than the mental anguish people bring upon their lives and to have eternity to do so, well I can't think of a worse way to live. Also one doing the punishing, not God, God is giving people a place to do that, all together. Man can not understand what it's like to be without any love, especially God's love. Even though many do not believe in Him that doesn't mean they do not receive His love, I believe that's why hell is described as a place of fire and brimstone, man's limited mind can not understand anything worse. As Forrest Gump said, "that's all I have to say about that."

Generally speaking, if I choose to bail on an argument, I do so at the beginning, before making a bunch of unsupported assertions and unfulfilled implications. GC, in particular, more than anyone else I've ever noticed, digs himself in so deep he can't dig himself out again, and only then, after making a bunch of claims, just disappears, with or without red herring attached. On top of that, he'll frequently claim to have demonstrated something elsewhere, and refuses to show where. He's a dishonest and unethical bag of shit, and I have no problem calling a spade a spade on this one. If you don't wanna rumble, don't roll up your sleeves. I have no problem with somebody choosing to abandon an argument for whatever reason, in general. As noted, there have been a number of differences between you and I that, for one reason or another, I have chosen not to follow up on. What I did not do is make a bunch of claims, boast about my rightness, and then disappear when it came time to pay the piper. That's what GC does, and if he's gonna keep doing it, I'm going to fault him for it.

(ETA: Oh, and thank you for your vote. That's mighty white of you given how acrimonious our relationship has been.)
(ETA2: On top of everything else, you know for a fact that if I claim to have an argument, you can be damn sure I can deliver.)

And why'd you leave this one?

I went through all 43 pages of this thread to make sure I didn't speak about hell and I didn't so why are you saying I bailed on this when I never discussed it here and if I hadn't popped in I wouldn't have even known you accused me of running out on a discussion about hell.
Need to make sure of what's been discussed by who before accusing someone of bailing, irresponsibility on your part is not my fault, that hangs around you neck.

You need to prove what you said about me in the above statement, anyone who is as luney tunes as you are can't be trusted.
