Introducing The Universal Religion

RE: Introducing The Universal Religion
Quote:Overview
Spiritual vibrations permeate all things centripetally and centrifugally, both in space and in time. This book explains all such seemingly inexplicable phenomena where, at the slightest contact with a complete stranger, one becomes uncontrollably positively attracted to him, or disgustedly repelled by him.
It is very rife where each time one gets to a particular place, it is problems all the way; while in some other environment, it is a life of ease and comfort all through.
The author has cited in this book a number of his intimately inter-personal experiences where spiritual vibrations of persons, places or things have exerted overwhelming influences on him for better or for ‘worse’.
The reader will greatly benefit from this book, if he takes cognizance of the after-glow effects of his interaction with every person, place or thing, and he succeeds in discerning the positive and negative radiations emanating from them with such an unfailing regularity and permanency.

Yeah, I think I'll pass on anything you're promoting.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Sounds like the religion of peace if there ever was one. Hmmm, clearing.

We praise thee, for thou artst the acceptable one! All hail the acceptable one!
Quote:It naturally follows therefore, that all existing scriptures stand to be displaced and replaced by the superior Universal Religion scriptures.
The new holy scriptures are very short:

10 This is the universal religion, acceptable to all.
20 Please behave acceptably
30 Goto 10

Quote:This inchoate Universal Religion will eventually be the only religion throughout the whole world and through all future civilizations.

We will not engage in idolatry, but only in inchoation. At least initially...

Quote:The religion will be a religion of no religion, in the sense that it will prove to be simply a natural way of life, i.e. all shades of primitive idolatrous worships of a personal humanlike deity will become a thing of the past.

But how will we identify the unbelievers???

Knowledge of God is superior to belief in God.

We are all entitled to our belief, since no one can prove belief; but not so to our knowledge, unless it is proven to be so.

I make bold here and now, that where no Theist or Atheist can prove the existence of God; with an unshakeable conviction, I can prove to the world that there is God.

The erstwhile design-designer, uncaused-first-cause line of argument stands faulted till tomorrow.

You don't really believe any of that:

Not necessarily, since (to quote the asheist pope Matt Dillahunty) knowledge is a subset of belief. I could make a Venn diagram of the entire set of things I might believe; of those, only a fraction are things I could claim to know.

Is this an unorthodox way of saying "you're entitled to your own beliefs; you are not entitled to your own facts"? Because I can see this coming back to bite you in the arse very soon.

It's not up the atheists to prove the existence of "God".

Great - where's your Nobel Prize? In fact, screw that - where's your Templeton Prize? Or your million dollars from the JREF?

That line of argument is faulted from the ground up.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
