I don't care if "God" is your pilot or your co-pilot - I'm still not getting on your 'plane.

The analogy still works even if we take the platitudinous pseudo-deepity meaning. If you're going to surrender your life and your actions to some figment of the imagination that someone has sold you under the brandname "God" or "Jesus", I want to keep as far away from you as it's physically possible to get.

I am fascinated by the Xian mindset of letting go. Humans beings are hardwired to desire control over their environment, so Xians gain control by letting go and leaving it in "god's" hands. They just sit back and accept whatever comes at them, because they believe in divine will.

It's pure insanity.

Back when I was a Christian I gave my problems to Jesus a couple of times. I felt better for a few minutes. When I got home from church and all my problems were still there I realized that Jesus is a cunt liar.
