When it comes to giving kudos:
1 Are you extremely selective or do you give them out simply if you agree with the poster? I give them out if a agree with the poster. If I feel like it. Certain posters make me feel like it
2 Do you ever take back a kudos? I did one when I was testing the kudoing mechanism, IIRC
3 Do you ever give kudos to members that you really dislike? I do, but less so.
4 Do you know members that you feel give out too many kudos? A couple. I'll say I don't agree with kudoing by the person to whom you responded or alluded.
5 What sort of post is most likely to gain a kudos from you? (funny, intellectual, sarcastic etc.) Wise or wise and funny, or just something I relate to
When it comes to receiving kudos:
1 Do you feel you currently get the kudos you deserve? I'm not sure anyone does. 1) Some folks are just too lazy to kudo, myself included. 2) kudowhoring
2 Do you ever post solely in the hopes that you will get kudos? I have if I was completely bored senseless. I'm ashamed.
3 Are you disappointed when no one kudos a post you made that you feel is brilliant? Not so much kudos, but just some sort of acknowledgement.
4 Are there specific members whose kudos you value more than others?
Sure! My favorite posters! But I'll take kudos from almost anybody. (Heck,is there even a way to delete recieved kudos?)

Combination of agreement and style points.
Quote:2 Do you ever take back a kudos?
I'm not that indecisive - at least, I think I'm not.
Quote:3 Do you ever give kudos to members that you really dislike?
I don't know anyone on the forum well enough to dislike them. I even occasionally give out kudos to the Christian/Moslem members from time to time.
Quote:4 Do you know members that you feel give out too many kudos?
Never really studied it. Some are more generous than others.
Quote:5 What sort of post is most likely to gain a kudos from you? (funny, intellectual, sarcastic etc.)
A short one. Pithy gets points. Very rarely a long post unless its a really good argument.

I guess so. Most of the time although there are the odd dry spells.
Quote:2 Do you ever post solely in the hopes that you will get kudos?
There's another reason?
Quote:3 Are you disappointed when no one kudos a post you made that you feel is brilliant?
Oh yes. On the other hand sometimes I make a casual post and within hours it has half a dozen kudos scores with me never really knowing why. Its always hard to tell what people will respond to.

I guess those that are less prone to give kudos.

Another site I frequent is very tight with passing out attaboys and another one doesn't have the feature at all, and I'm not accustomed to it.
As a new one here, is there a downside to 'effing up' and putting a kudo on the site equivalent of an untouchable ?
(I do use quite a few smilies here, at other places I've noted problems with the 'Poe' thing)

I see kudos as a nod of the head.
I'm not sure of why they're tallied beside the name though.
At the start of any discussion I don't need to know who is the most popular or agreed with person in the room.
It's likely that some people would be less inclined to disagree with a higher numbered person or vice versa.
