I see many people are angry at all of these illegals coming into the U.S. I can understand it but if you are a true Christian shouldn't you want these poor people to stay in this country and escape all of the poverty in their nation? As I said i can understand why people would not want illegals coming into this country but what i can't understand is why a Christian would want to turn them away. Minimalist is right. Illegal immigrants have a much harder time getting government services than citizens obviously. Despite that they still have an incentive to come here, our economy doesn't suck balls and isn't influenced by a extremely convoluted economically inconsistent socialist Constitution that was poorly thought out by idiots. Of course there are other factors as well, but Mexico is a large country with abundant resources, it's Constitution is a horrible mess though. To get a job in the country you have to prove you are a citizen or otherwise legally eligiable. However to get food stamps...no such verification is necessary.

It is trivially easy for an illegal immigrant to collect welfare in the form of food stamps in this country and that is by design. If there is no robust enforcement of eligibilty requirements they might as well not exist.

Let everyone in who wants to work. Just don't give them an incentive to come here to be on the dole. The day is coming when we will be able to let everyone in...even if they want to sit around and smoke pot all day...but that day isn't here yet.

If I understand the wording right, and I do, illegal immigrants can get food stamps for their legal children without having to provide their own immigrant status. It doesn't apply to the illegal immigrants themselves. You can't apply for food stamps without a social security number anyway. I think you just misunderstood the wording, which is an honest mistake.
