In Britain no one would bat an eye if you sat down in a restaurant in a fucking nazi uniform. Just say "fancy dress" and they'll let you in anywhere. I've been here over 50 years and seen some pretty offensive Tees. I haven't seen anything like that happen yet.

Both, depends on the shirt. The Christian shirts I see here tend to be just the name of a youth or other Christian Group. I don't find that offensive. I"ve seen shirts with pictures of fetus' that I found offensive. In Idaho I saw some pretty racist shirts that certainly offended me. I haven't seen so many shirts that would bother Christians but I have seen: "666," "Fuck Mother Teressa" just once each. I've seen lots of pagan and Wicken shirts. I have seen Fiction bumper stickers just like the t-shirt the OP posted. The walking evolve fish I've seen a lot of. Also many "Godless Heathen" shirts, but if that bothers people they're pretty thin skinned.

Scruffy facial hair, atheist t-shirt, skinny jeans, the only thing missing was the fedora. I found these memes to illustrate the point - You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence. |
