Is it possible to be a gay Christian?

RE: Is it possible to be a gay Christian?
Why is it mysterious for someone to ignore that one when someone else is ignoring the one about picking up sticks on the Sabbath ??

Step up to the plate, then, if you will, explain how cafeteriaism works and is oakaly doakaly with God.

Well when every other Christian invents their own version of both their religion and their god to follow, then why the hell not?

It pleases me to think of bigots getting annoyed at people bastardising their religion to fit their own agenda, but in a positive way (equality and freedom) rather than the usual way (judging and condemnation).

Any church tolerant of gays in the pews that remains commercially viable will persist.

Churches intolerant of the divorced and remarrieds, for instance, in their pews will soon find those pews (and collection plates) empty on Sundays. No matter what Jesus said about the practice,'Christian' churches aren't going to enforce unpopular strictures.

Churches that make a stink about too many things the 'choosy faithful' find inconvenient will either be advertising for a new pastor or locking their doors and seeking out a different franchise.

Even the Mormons, if the finance department decides there is money to be made with turning a blind eye, if not outright support for gay marriage will announce yet ANOTHER convenient revelation.

Oh, they tend to judge and condemn more conservative Christians pretty readily.

Since homosexuality does not confer immunity against stupidity, wish thinking, moral infantilism and most importantly intellectual disintegrity, of course one could be gay and Christian.

People pick and choose which part of Christianity to believe all the time. Deciding god loved homosexuals isn't much of a leap. I find it much easier than believing in god in the first place.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god.  If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

The New Testament speaks of casting out homosexuals from the Church community, so no unless said homosexuals did not actually practice homosexuality.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

However, (there's always one with Bible stuff) casting out of the homosexuals is not connected to their violating any of the subset of Commandments highlighted by Christ.

I note those remarried following divorce, are. (adultery)

I am a bisexual Christian. I don't find it to be incompatible.
