Course I also had a dream of a car driving itself once The thing for me is that no matter how unusual the dream is, my mind accepts that it's perfectly natural. I used to have dreams where I would fly or levitate or jump from long heights. In some of them I would start to levitate by simply "stepping into" the air, as if there was a stairway. It seemed completely normal.
One strange one was when I was a child. The only part I remember was that I was sitting in an adult's lap and was conversing with some small, disembodied, animated doll head (no doubt from some horror film I'd seen). All of a sudden, it leapt at me and =poof!= I was awake. For all I knew, I'd simply awakened with a start and nothing else. Then I noticed my older sister standing at the side of the bed with a terrified expression on her face, and my parents rushing into the room in full "WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED" mode.
Turns out that just as my dream was ending, my sister had placed her hand on my chest to wake me for school. When she did this, I let out a loud, long, wild shriek that probably sounded like someone had stepped on a banshee's tail. For whatever reason, I was utterly unaware of having done it, but it livened up the morning for everyone else.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

I have couldve given anything to make that dream a reality I would have. But alas our relationship was simply too toxic and I woke up alone in the dark in my two bedroom apartment. Learn about lucid dreaming-- it's something you can learn to control. Reality is overrated.

Considering the dreams I've had of late, no way would I call dreaming a curse.

I never dream, or I don't remember them at least.

I'd really like to stop dreaming.

Sir Vorlon... you have come to the right place.

Sir Vorlon... you have come to the right place. You two fucking knock it off. If you aren't sticking your penis in a vagina, then how are you going to enjoy the process of pretending you're enjoying an act of freedom while you put the ball-and-chain known as a baby in someone's belly?
If your favorite activity isn't likely to end life as you know it, you're doing it wrong. Stop having free fun, fuckers, and suffer with the rest of us!

That sounds like it would be incredibly dysphoric.
Probably really difficult to pretend enjoying that... mind, I'm all about the last bit (feeding them a baby, esp during sex)... it's that first part that I just can't get past.

I don't have to suffer the burden of life anymore... so, I feel I ought be free of the suffering life brings

Dreams can give you insight on your inner status.
I remember those dreams of flying when I was a kid, awesome.
The scary ones were a signal of hidden fears that needed to be dealt with.
You ask,"Why.......dreams"?
I suspect they are both for an early warning system and to cause us to have a sense of awe and wonder at ourselves.
We are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Where did I hear that before?
