I hated the movies. Yuck. I didn't see all of them but the ones I saw were terrible. Shirtless Jacob was the only good thing in the movies.
I didn't hate the books. I really really love to read, and it's hard to disappoint me with a book. Even if it does promote domestic violence.

I bought my daughter the first Twilight book, back before all the hoopla began. Edward and Bella is all I heard about for the better part of 4 years.
After much begging, she talked me into reading them. I actually wound up liking them. The last book in the series - Breaking Dawn was my favorite, same with the movie.
Yea, I know everyone loves to poke fun at the whole Twilight phenomenon, and guess what? I don't give a shit. I like what I like and do not need anyone's approval.
And I promise you that Twilight's author Stephanie Meyer, doesn't give a shit either. She's laughing all the way to the bank.
Luke: You don't believe in the Force, do you?
Han Solo: Kid, I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other, and I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen *anything* to make me believe that there's one all-powerful Force controlling everything. 'Cause no mystical energy field controls *my* destiny. It's all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense.

This "Twilight" thing. It sounds like something who's ignorance of I should continue to embrace.

This isn't the first (nor the most extensive) Twilight rage thread I've ever participated in. I did one where we all but rewrote the books, which is how I came to be convinced that Bella's mother should've died before book 1, and why book 1 is a massive waste of time.

Everyone gets to like what they want to so I've got no problem with anyone liking the books. I've had long car conversations with a coworker who loves the books, too, but she also agrees with every single one of my criticisms of them. :p

Truth.

Be glad. Be very, very glad.
Vampires Suck is pretty funny, though. And arguably better than the Twilight movies. AT least they condense 4 hours of movie into two hours.
Teenaged X-Files obsession + Bermuda Triangle episode + Self-led school research project = Atheist.

One evening I heard my son in his room laughing hysterically over and over...I had to know why! He was watching Vampires Suck! Wound up watching it myself and loved it.
There are some horrible cheesy parts in the books and movies, but I still like them. What can I say, I'm easily entertained....why do you think I enjoy coming here?
And since you all are waiting with bated breath - I'm Team Edward. But I do love those huge wolves.
The books are better and made me fall in love with the Cullen family.
Enjoy

I'm just pissed that Twilight ate up werewolf airtime. There's a finite supply, and the existence of Twilight meant that I have to wait a bit before the narrative is addressed in some other, more amusing way. They're my favorite monsters, so ripe with potential - but no...no...we get some shirtless jackass to stand in for all of that. Sigh. SAnd wtf was with their "transformations? They poofed into fucking poodles under a cloud of purple fairy magic.....
GODAMNIT!
Tell you what Jacob, bake me some fucking cupcakes when you're done wolfing out......

Don't project your age onto me! :p
I'm only 2.5 years older than him!
I will look at Taylor Lautner shirtless all day long 7 days a week. I thought about getting a poster for over my bed :p
I'd honestly rather have Steel Curtain though

You're rather scandalous already with the skimpy outfit you wore (in the first post in this thread).
