If the theory of an antichrist is a man who appears to bring peace and prospertiy in the form of a god, he would (a) have to present himself as a god, or (b) be followed be an overwhelming majority of people on a hysterical level, which isn't the case.

Well, you have to realize the fact that you think followers will be metamorphosed into a Christ like being has no logical explanation or evidence, so I can't really account that as a true event that will take place. I still don't understand how some religions can reject the theory of gradual change over a period of millions of years in a species but accept an abrupt transition from matter to spirit instantaneously.
