Hello, recovering Catholic here

Strap yourself in. This is the deep end of atheism.
I can't get why you're obsessed with ends
cause the beginning is already taken

I like the way your thread title makes it seem like a disease. Welcome. I think Min will like you.
Catholicism does share many traits with a disease process.

Pull up a theist and help yourself to a slice of baby while it's warm. By the way, when I read that lovely word "christkind", I did it to the tune of "White Lines" by Grandmaster Flash and Melle Mel (and later Duran Duran). Now you can all have as much fun as me getting it out of your heads.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Imagine a child being brainwashed into feeling guilty about almost everything in life. There's always that allseeing peeping Tom in the background, only waiting to punish you for your transgressions. It goes even beyond that. Sometimes we were told, that god would take what's dearest to us. So that left me worrying for my family whenever I felt like dissapointing the bastard above.
The OP even noted eternal punishments too. One little F up and God has designed the universe to reward you when you die with a case of diarrhea where you poop rusty red hot razor blades out your butt for an infinite amount of time.

Here's the real injustice in such a universe. All transgressions are punished equally. If I knew, or even suspected, that I was doomed to infinite punishment for - say - having lustful thoughts, what's to stop me from deciding to go out and slaughter as many people as I can manage? After all, hanged for a sheep as a lamb, I'm going for the sheep as well.
