I'll tell you a story which I've mentioned before.

When I was a student and working in a hospital to pay the bills and get experience, a young guy 17 or 18 was brought into the emergency room after a serious car accident.

Many doctors and nurses worked on him for hours and he went through a lot of blood products.

In the end he was stabilised and survived.

They were interviewed on the local TV and they thanked god for their son's survival. No mention of the highly trained medical staff at all.

Yeah thank god and just and fuck the people who tried to help.
god didn't do anything directly or anything at all those are highly trained people they are good at they do and get no thanks they just god. i thanked the people who were working on me and helped me out i didn't thank god. I was like yeah thanks doc Big Grin i'm all better.

The usual excuse I get is, "But god gave the doctors their skills and knowledge".

If so, why the long years in medical school, then internship and then residency?

well lets see the people in Egypt were very hygienic and were more advanced with medication and treatments than the middle east for the most part. remember people back then except for the Egyptians were just plain stupid they really only had simple mind sets back then. sadly it progressed and followed to the modern era.

It's interesting that in the Dark Ages when Europe was being ravaged by the black death that it had barely any effect in the Middle East. Of course, in those days Islam was for more advanced, scientifically, than much of the Christian world.

Well, if you're trying to make a historic reference, let's keep it real. Virtually nothing compares to the dumbdown Europe suffered in the transition between the classical Roman times and the Middle Ages. And we stayed pretty dumb till the onset of the Rennaissance and later the age of enlightenment.

All through the Middle Ages Galen was still the highest authority when it came to medicine. There was no development, foremost because the church banned autopsies.

Yeah, without them, we wouldn't even have the concept of zero.

When you or a loved one goes to a doctor for a serious health problem, don't you want that person to have the best science background possible?

Don't you want those designing your planes, cars, bridges, buildings, etc to base their designs on science?

You use the gifts of science many times a day, every day of your life, and you have the gall to ask why you should pay taxes for the education that gives you those gifts?

Moron....

Because christians like even today put all there eggs into one basket and parade around and say god is going to do everything for us because we are in debt to him because were sinners. He wan'ts us not to be happy here but spread the word get followers and then come home. Now they don't like progress some think that computers are a gift from god some think they are evil they are satans creations. then you have the decent christians who are like computer were made by humans but were not given the instructions by god. i told a person that if you hate all of this and all the advance humanity has made go live in a mud hut and see how hard it is.

Just when you thought, it couldn't get any lower. It's just like the Limbo dance and "how low can you go". I think, you're a champ of mental limbo.

I've said the same thing to some people who state they hate science. Then why are you on a computer posting over the internet from a nicely warmed house if you hate science?

They said the same thing about computers . . .

Hmmmm . . . people still work.

Interesting isn't it how some of the very religious want everyone to be ignorant?

Because of extremely low interest rates. But there is zero lower boundary so monetary policy won't help in the future.
