something that occurred to me well over 40 years ago while involved in a conversation with a practicing christian- who will be the recipient of ultimate knowledge as related to religious/spiritual beliefs at the point of our deaths. atheists-absolutely, agnostics-absolutely. but what of those whose tenets include a belief that there is some form of existence after death? "if" there Is a deity/god/and another level of existence awaiting us then the answer would obviously be yes. but what if indeed there be none? those of us who believe our existence ends at the point of our deaths if met by something other than the void will gain the ultimate knowledge that Our beliefs were, in fact, false and in error. but, those who Do believe there is another level of existence after death when met with Nothing will never know that Their beliefs were false, and in error.
i have probably been questioned hundreds of times over my 71 years as to my personal beliefs as relates to what would occur at my point of death. what would happen, and where did i believe i would "go". my response was simple. it was, and is, that i would simply "go" (or "return" as it were) to the exact same place i was prior to my conception- the void.
