Boston is known for having a lot of really good universities. Off the top of my head we have Harvard, MIT, BU, BC, Northeaster and a whole ton of others. It's a college city.
The Boston Atheist group is a baby. No real membership outside of meetup.com. I was doing registration for Anime Boston which is a HUGE anime convention in Boston every spring.
But I have really high hopes for Boston Atheists, I've gone straight from being a member to getting involved in some stuff. We're starting a podcast this month, I'm super excited about that. We have plans for a billboard in the summer, and long term plans for a convention (which I'm personally going to push). So like I said, it's a baby with a big things planned. Once we get a good member base we'll register as a 501©3 and have member dues and all that fun stuff.
But oh man, as for New Years, it was 0 degrees outside as well as snowing. We got 8 inches and it was crazy windy. Luckily I didnt have to go outside much and when I went to my friend's party I got very wonderfully drunk.
