The whole argument for hell is silly. It's eternal punishment for finite crimes which is inherently cruel. It's done in such a way that's designed to be a deterrent, yet god never explicitly makes himself known to everyone. If he did, there wouldn't be Muslims, or Hindus, or aboriginals believing in whatever they believe in, etc. So, it's useless in that capacity. And, since god is described as omniscient, he willingly and knowingly creates billions of people that will be sent to hell, which is a pretty dick move.

There's no love on display here. It's abuse. I see similar leaps in logic between believers and battered spouses. "He only hits me because he loves me. I deserved what I got." It's bullshit. At the end, everything boils down to "Obey me or else." Fuck that.

I doubt you'd want your children to look upon you with fear, or as you put in another thread, with "trembling".

I have no children and you will have to show me the post where I said I trembled before my father before I believe what you stated.

If you feel so deeply inclined that we are going to hell kindly ask god to wipe us off the face of the earth. just do it because whats the point if were going to hell and whats the point of living a full life if were going to hell. since you think theism is so radically more moral than atheists are you got it ass backwards. theists murder atheists and claim were are godless devils and demons even though for the most part we are humanitarian we care about our fellow man. we care not because some magic guy who sits on his lazy ass for eternity says to love everyone. hell i volunteer do work and community service i get godless you a lot and i say i'm doing it for god i'm doing it for my fellow man.
