Personally, my left big toe itching tells me there is no God. That's good enough for me.

You need a logical argument, not emotional appeals.

That wasn't directed at me was it?

Claiming someone is not a true Christian or the right kind of Christian. Theists sometimes say that when we bring up the fact that many of us were Christian before we were atheists and have studied the Bible intently. Some theists claim that we were either in the wrong faith or that we were never really a Christian.

(Drich is the one that claims to have the definition of a "True Christian")
In every country and every age, the priest had been hostile to Liberty.

No GH I was talking to strawdawg. I should really use more names, sorry Smile

Yeah. He kind of corners the market on the No True Scotsman fallacy. He never seems to tire.

I like to call people out on preaching, for their sake as much as mine. It's never going to convince any serious atheist of anything. It's like throwing imaginary darts at me. Waste of time all round. I'm open to debate, evidence reason and argument but not blind appeals to just believe stuff because someone says so.

Many atheists have a sense of wonder also. It is actually very humbling to think about the universe and variety of life on this earth.

Quote:2) OR there were infinite ways the universe could've turned out in 14 billion years (because chaos) and out of all those infinite possibilities we got this one- where we come to life and evolved and are having this conversation.
Conclusion- We were specially meant to be born. We are not an accident
.

The human mind developed to seek out patterns. That is why we see faces in clouds even though there are no real faces in the sky. That is probably what you are experiencing. You looked at life and tried to find the pattern and so concluded that there must be god.

Haha yeah, looking back at your post, that would have been a ridiculous response to what you said. I agree that the heart was most likely spoken of metaphorically even back then, but people interpret the bible in very weird ways.
