This. What's it called in your language? Also what gender is it?
Apparently it's Mårran in Swedish and Groke in English. Both come from a murmuring or growling sound.
In Polish it's Buka. It doesn't mean anything. And it's supposedly a female.

I have no clue what that is...
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

What the hell is that?
It looks like a ghost that drank 50 gallons of Ribena and then swallowed a piano. Feel free to send me a private message.

Quote:The Groke: A ghost-shaped creature that scares everyone, she says nothing (she growls) and the ground freezes below her. The other characters are afraid of her, but she is just simply very lonely. The Groke is also attracted to fire, but when she sees it and sits on it, the fire will extinguish. You mean to tell me you haven't heard of it? RE: what's this called?

Yeah... Moomins are not very popular in English-speaking countries. I've never heard a single mention of the books, or cartoons in British or American media. It's mainly a Northern-Europe-thing, I think. And they appear to be big in Japan, which is unsurprising, since the design of the characters seems to fit right in with manga/anime.

Now I'm having confusing feelings about yet another fictional character...
I'm really weird like that I think I have excess empathy or something, it extends to things that aren't even real. I don't know what's the matter with me. Feel free to send me a private message.

Huh. Well, you're missing out on the most psychedelic children's story ever.
That certainly doesn't look like a Moomin or Mummin as we used to call them. Mummins I remember.
