Today, I told my mom I've been having sleep issues and asked if she could take me to the doctor. She decided I just need to read the Bible more. Needless to say, I still can't sleep. FML

She's braver than I am, snakes creep me right the fuck out.

We have three. Love them all. Each has their own little personality.
Yes.. snakes can have personalities. Peko, the one she's holding, likes to have her head petted. Lyko, on the other hand, hates it. And Crisco, our albino ball just likes to scare people with his little beady red eyes.

We take them to schools and educate the kids and some of the teachers. The kids get a real kick out of it.

My dads friend had a Python he raised.
One day he awoke to find the Python stretched out next to him on the bed, really straight, he thought that was odd and asked a vet what he thought it was doing.
Turns out it was measuring to see if he'd fit in its tummy.
To a python you are a meal it hasn't had yet.

When I got badly (really, seriously badly) banged up at age 17, my great auntie told me later that I wouldn't have lived if she hadn't prayed for me.

I probably should mention, that the anecdote in the OP isn't my own situation, but that of another person. My mother is much worse (Spent hundreds of dollars at a psychic trying to find out if her lost cat was angry with her)
