Charged for "faith healing" over medical care
Quote:Oregon Court Upholds Convictions of Couple Who Sought 'Faith Healing' Instead of Doctor for Baby

The Oregon Supreme Court has upheld the 2011 manslaughter convictions of a faith-healing couple whose premature baby died after a homebirth when they didn’t seek medical treatment.

I can't wait to see what the 'pro-life' crowd has to say about this.  Generally they seem to lose all interest at the moment of birth.

I'm still pissed about the case of such "parents" who allowed not one, but two of their kids to die of easily treatable maladies.

For fuck's sake.
Enough with the goddamn olive oil, already.

Faith healing is one of the most frustrating and sickening aspects of religious belief. The practice is dangerously reckless, tragic, and downright criminal much of the time. I happen to tolerate religious stupidity quite well, but I'm forced to speak up when I hear about ridiculous parents substituting faith-healing and/or prayer for legitimate medical treatment.

Even as a believer, I was deeply troubled by the faith-healings performed at my church. The irony of the church being located across the street from a hospital was never lost on me.

If it wasn't for science giving us plentiful medical advances just imagine laying in bed with a sickness that could be cured with
over the counter medications and then suffering because you know they are praying and its not working. Faith and praying doesn't
cure shit.

Let's not forget the 'faith healer" who bilked millions out of people, and likely ruined hundreds of lives with his "healing" who rushed himself to hospital when he had heart problems.

Can't remember his name.

Why not heal himself?  That's faith for you...

Whoever he is, he wasn't the first to do so and he won't be the last. The people at the top know that shit doesn't work.

To be fair, I'm only slightly different in that I don't much care before either.
