They don't make them like that any more.

As soon as the "benevolent" dictator starts telling people to worship him on pain of death or torture, you know he's already corrupt. The only thing a benevolent person would ever demand is equality. Jesus does say treat others as you would have them treated, but he also says to love god more than anyone else. That's not equality.

Seriously, dude?
And there I was thinking, you're one of the saner ones. I know it's been quite some time since you posted that, but what's your take on a "benevolent dictator"? Who's gonna appoint him and who's gonna boot his ass out of office once he doesn't meet expectations?

Do you have a historical example of a benevolent dictator? I find it difficult to believe one ever existed

It is a certain and very attractive kind of benevolence to assert equality between his own auagust personage and all his minions. But it is not the only kind, nor a required component for all kinds. Ultimately benevolence is judged by whether one attempted to price commensurate with demonstrable benefit one succeeded in bringing, or if one attempts to exaggerate the benefit one brings is order to be able to exact a higher price for it. Jesus certain exaggerated the nothing he brought into each and everything, and through it attempt to parley the zero price he deserves into an infinite perpetual annuity. So while he was without a doubt less able then even Kim Jung un, the wickedness of his intention certain exceed those of Kim by an very large order of magnitude.

As soon as you die you will have eternity with your dictator of choice. Until then I kindly ask that you, and those like you, remove yourself from the political process and let those of us that are passionate about liberty make a go of it. You don't have long to wait and you'll benefit from our attempt.

And on the other hand, when Churchill was visiting the White House shortly after Pearl Harbor, FDR entered into Churchill's quarters when the latter was fully nude. FDR Immediately apologized and made to leave, where upon Churchill said, "I have nothing to hide from the President of the United States."
