Sometimes I really don't get you christians, but I'm honestly interested to hear your explanation. There's a game about fighting and killing people and you're worried your children could be exposed to sexual content? That's what I will never understand. Sex and nudity usually don't hurt people, chopping heads off does.

If it graphically shows heads being chopped off, I'd likewise keep my kids from it. The sexual content was what I read about first, and I stopped reading at that point. We play DDO, which is very tame with the graphics.

Plus, apparently unlike the target audience, I get laid frequently IRL. Sexual content would bore me.

So, I've started The Witcher I. Interesting so far. Controls are a combination of Baldur's Gate/Neverwinter style click and move and Elder Scrolls W A S D movement with mouse scrolling to control direction. Nice that you can use either, but takes some getting used to.

Violence is (so far) not really graphic at all and I haven't yet seen any sexual content. Definitely more of a story driven game than Elder Scrolls. Seems to be more of what I've been looking for. Odds of buying Witcher II and III just went way up! Big Grin

This! So much, this. It's much like Hollywood movie ratings. You can have tons of swearing and violence, even bloody, explicit violence and only get an "R" rating, but one female masturbation scene, over the clothes and bang, "NC-17." Alpha, maybe you take care about violent content as much as you do about sexual content, but the majority of people, faithers or not, don't seem to. It's baffling to me that, in most households, allowing a 16-year old to watch the Alien movies is perfectly ok but a couple Californication episodes is absolutely out of the question.

Haven't played any Witcher games, myself. Have heard a lot of good things, though.

Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni:

I've bought these games but never got round to playing them properly.

Played about 3 hours into the first one, but it was running like a piece of shite on my PC so gave up. It seemed pretty decent though, combat and controls were a bit odd and hard to get used to but from everything I'd read you'd become used to it after a few more hours of gameplay. Besides, games like this I don't really play for the combat so much as the choices and story. Apparently these two things are supposed to be up there with the best. Comparatively speaking The Witcher franchise seems to be a lot more similar to a Bioware game like Dragon Age than to Skyrim or any of those other open-world RPGs.

From what I've seen it does seem to have some sexual content more comparable with Game of Thrones than anything else in the fantasy genre, but fuck, I like that. It's a proper adult RPG by the looks of things.

If you like games with consequential decisions (or seemingly consequential), then I urge you to just eat up everything Bioware has produced. Dragon Age, Mass Effect, and I really, really recommend Knights of the Old Republic if you've never played those games. Even with how old KotOR 1 and 2 are, they're still the best fucking games ever made in my opinion. I still go back and do entirely different playthroughs even all these years on.
