The worst/best part is the mindless drones in the audience.

Okay, this is supposed to be a thread about questions for a German, so I've got one for you. How could the place that produced so much great music (Bach, Beethoven, etc.) produce stuff like what has recently been shown in this thread?
You must be doing something terribly wrong to go from such heights to this sort of thing.

Bach, Buxtehude, Schütz, were all influenced by the great Italians, either in Rome or Venice, and the rest followed from there. We need that kind of guidance from those of our neighbours who have an actual sense of style
But honestly, I don't know how it is possible. Much if this shite is so primitive, too, musically, that the only thing that keeps me from writing tons of it is the distracting vomiting. As to the question why there is an audience, I don't have a good theory. Dementia, maybe? I mean, the average level of education is really good in this country. We just have no taste, on average.

The Italian influence explains it:
There will never again be any good music out of Germany.

Did I already mention that I will attempt to raise my kids without (commercial) kids' songs? I hated them when I was young, and I expect them to uphold this standard

They will hear such songs in school and at their friends' houses. And by making the songs "forbidden," such songs will be all the more attractive to your children.
Better stock up on the hard liquor.

There is definitely going to be some black metal, and some death metal. After all, BM can be perfectly nice if you play it in major
